Hunkydory Christmas Craftinator 2015

This year the wonderful people at Hunkydory produced another Christmas Craftinator with new stunning designs. I only had a chance to make a few cards from this humongous collection before my accident so I have plenty of wonderful bits left over! Here are some of my favourite makes from this collection.

Hunkydory also brought out a beautiful Christmas decoupage collection and although I resisted buying the whole collection I did buy 1 or 2 ... or 5 individuals decoupage sheets from this collection! The ones I had managed to make are also shared here.

I absolutely love these red and black Christmas cards. I am also very proud of my first ever gate fold card! I think its come out alright!

Here are some of the decoupaged cards.

Best of Breeds - Christmas!

Unfortunately at the end of October I had an accident. I fell down the stairs at work while carrying the new Christmas Decorations that I had just been out buying for work. Although at first my injuries did not appear to be that bad, within the next 24 hours the pain levels shot up and very bad bruising began to appear all over my body, particularly on both my knees. I had bruised my back, chest, stomach, arms and wrists. I also had badly bruised both my knees and following an xray a week later discovered I had severe soft tissue damage in both my knees. I could barely walk for the first couple of weeks and when I did manage to move around a bit more I was in a lot of pain. So I have had no choice but to be off of work since the accident as my GP was very concerned about my injuries. I have spent most of this time resting, and being completely dopey due to the extra strong painkillers. I managed a bit of daytime tv (oh the joy!), the odd page of reading, but mostly sleep and rest. Now that the fog of painkillers is starting to clear, I am at least able to begin sorting out the photographs of some of my Christmas card makes for this year while continuing to rest and recuperate.

Here are some of my Best of Breeds Christmas collection cards. I love the Westie cards because they remind me of my beloved Dougal, and Pollyanna Pickerings artwork is just superb. I really enjoyed working with this collection and still have bits left for next year (or perhaps any last minute cards once I am fully healed), Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed making them!

I have also started using more embellishments on my cards, so you will notice the increased use of ribbons, bows, gems, glitter etc. It was a lot of fun using these extras....if a bit messy!

The decoupage is traditional decoupage, so every layer and detail had to be cut out by hand. No die cutting decoupage here!

The papers that went with this collection were stunning and the inserts were also beautiful. I love the fact that its not all just red and green traditional Christmas colour ways. Not that I mind that, I love the traditional colours associated with the festive season, but its nice to have things a bit different.

Kid's Cards

Its been a while since I added any photos of my crafty makes as I have been looking after my Dad who has been very poorly. However he is now fully on the mend and I can start sharing the photos of my recent makes! Here are some of the Kid's Cards I have been making using decoupage from Cut & Create.
This is one of my favourite recent makes. I love the pirate image and the brilliant background is a sheet of adorable scorable card from Hunkydory. Ooo arh!

I love these dinosaurs, and I was thrilled when I found the Dinosaur paper that I used in the background of the purple dinosaur card.
This giraffe is soooo cute. The background paper is from the same pad that the dinosaur and owl papers come from. Love them!

This easel card took a long while to make as I wasn't sure the paper would work for a background. However I am really pleased with the finished card.

This pig card was another one that took some thought as it would have been very easy just to make it very PINK which I didn't want to do. I think the purple and pale blues help tone it down a tad.
A large 8 x 8 card. Love the squirrel image.

Had to turn this owl into an easel card so it looked a bit like he was perching, and I think the owl paper is just awesome!
First time I made this style of stepper card. It was a bit fiddly doing the background paper until I worked out the best way to do it. Very pleased with the result and I think the cowboy is fab.

Another 8 x 8 card. I really loved this wizard image and as first was thinking of doing a black background. I am so pleased I didn't!
I really like the Cut & Create images that are currently available. I still have more to make including more dinos, aliens & monsters, robots, animals and sea life! I will of course share them with you when they are finished.
